Anything with a name Bene Gesserit will be under legal scrutiny by the estate of Frank Herbert. Something similar perhaps?

Bene Severit

From the latin: sero, serere, sevi, satus
sow, plant; strew, scatter, spread; cultivate; beget, bring forth

This can be either the perfect active subjunctive - Those who have brought forth well.
Or the future perfect active indicative - Those who will have brought forth well.

I thought this would be appropriate given the fact that we are creating or bringing forth a new sisterhood, and it fits the grammar and style of the original.

That is an excellent name, a relevant meaning. The only downside is that the initials would be BS. :) But a good name

Ok, so I hadn't even thought of that. Sorry. I've included a few more options in the same vein below.

Bene Genuerit: from gigno, gignere, genui, genitus - give birth to, bring forth, bear; beget.
Translation - Those who will have brought forth well, or those who have brought forth well.

Bene Coeperit: from coepio, coepere, coepi, coeptus - begin, commence, initiate; set foot on,
Translation - Those who will have begun well, or those who have begun well.

or in another direction entirely ...

Bene Celaverit: from celo, celare, celavi, celatus - conceal, hide, keep secret; disguise; keep in dark/in ignorance; shield.
Translation - Those who will have concealed well, or those who have concealed well.

Just throwing things out there.

I like the following names that you suggested:
Bene Genuerit
Bene Celaverit

I like the idea of keeping the word 'Bene' in the organization name. I think it is a good idea to also keep it in the Latin form.

Great job!

Orsa and I discussed changing it to "Bene Djesserit" or "Bene Geseritt" in order to avoid the issue. What are all of your thoughts on that?

I thought that the name could not be Bene Gesserit, due to legalities. Of the two, Bene Djesserit seems better than Bene Geseritt.

Actually, I found out that Djeserit is an Egyptian name which means 'holy woman'. Very good. I like this spelling too--Djeserit. Cool.

I think that sounds like a match to me lol! Well, to me personally..we seem to have solved at least part of our problem. Anyone have any good leads on the first word "Benne", "Bene" or "Beni"?

Don't forget everyone! We have a Skype meeting Sunday the 30th of May at 2pm CST.

I thought about that. I thought about using "Benae" or something. Just enough difference, maybe?
